FAX CAMPAIGN
Martyrs’ Day FAX Campaign
EHDR-UK run a FAX
campaign in remembrance of Eritrean Martyrs. Members of our
organisation
collected FAXed copies of this letter to government officials inside and
outside the
country, institutions and
human rights agencies throughout the world.
Celebrating
Martyr’s Day becomes meaningless when basic rights, which our
martyrs fought
for, are inconsiderately trampled.
Hence, there is no dignity
when the
government celebrates Martyr’s Day while: :

Prisoners are thrown in jail without
charge.
·
Citizens are denied their
constitutional rights.
·
Parents are deprived of the death
notification of their martyred children.
·
The youth are continuously tied up
in a campaign comparable to slavery.
·
The faithful are not allowed to
practise their chosen faith.
·
The security forces constantly
intimidate conscientious citizens.
·
Freedom of press is non-existent.
